About the Program
What Is Guiding Good Choices®?
Guiding Good Choices® (GGC) is a five-session, evidence-based workshop series for parents and caregivers of youth ages 9–14. Developed at the University of Washington, GGC gives families practical tools to build stronger bonds, improve communication, and reduce the risks that come with adolescence. Each session runs about two hours — in-person throughout Maine and New England, or online via Zoom anywhere in the U.S.

Family Empowerment Lab is led by Andrew, a certified Guiding Good Choices® Workshop Leader trained exclusively through the University of Washington. Based in Maine, we deliver GGC sessions in-person throughout Maine and New England — and online via Zoom to families anywhere in the country. Our work is grounded in the Social Development Strategy: a proven framework that builds the bonds and skills young people need to make healthy choices.
